Every month until March 2010, award-winning college Point Blank are delivering free creative and media activities including Radio Broadcasting, Acting and Film, DJ Skills and Music Production. The workshops are being held in well-known London venues and each month's activities conclude with celebrity-led Masterclasses e.g. Acting with Blood Diamond’s David Harewood and Eastenders’ Tracy-Ann Oberman and Radio with Choice FM's Lucy Ambache, DJ Skills with Allister Whitehead (Pacha, Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound) and Music Production with Jony Rockstar (Sugababes, Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen). London's Learning is aimed at Londoners who are 19 or over.

Led by Alex Crowe & Sally Dean, London UK Two long-weekend intensive workshops in movement and the art of performance based on Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT), a gentle but powerful system of movement training involving touch, sound and visualised imagery. Beginning from classes in SRT, we explore key aspects of the technique as ways into performance and performance making, extending them to encompass costume, object and site. FIRST WORKSHOP: OPENING INWARDS - Touch, Sound and Image February 18 (Thursday) 6.30-9pm & February 19-21 (Friday- Sunday) 10.30am-4.30pm at London Buddhist Arts Centre, London E2 Open to all. With Kate Hilder Thursdays, 21th Jan - 18th March, 7.30 to 9.30pm movingartsbase, Islington, London N1, UK Action Theater™ is a form of improvised movement-based theatre. It integrates physical, vocal and emotional expression and encourages spontaneity, creativity and play. During this 9 week course you will expand your physical and vocal range and practise the performance skills of listening, responding and collaboration. You will develop an ear for the musicality of speech, focusing not only on what you're saying but how you're saying it and who you're being when you speak. This course is suitable for actors/dancers/musicians wanting to develop their performance presence and for anyone interested in re-discovering the art of play. Kate is a certified Action Theater™ teacher who has trained extensively with Ruth Zaporah, the pioneer of this form. Towards Organic Presence’ International Centre for Theatrical Research and Training Las Téoulères, Gers, Gascony, France 17 July – 7 August 2010 ‘Towards Organic Presence’ is a practical exploration of the body, the voice and movement. The elements of this workshop have emerged from Katharina Seyferth’s direct work with Jerzy Grotowski. Katharina Seyferth has worked with Ryszard Cieslak in New York and was then invited to join the Theatre Laboratory's intercultural group of the Theater of Sources project, under the direction of Jerzy Grotowski. The Centre provides room and boarding for €25 per person per day. The cost of the workshop is €400 € for the entire length of the three weeks. The time of work is 8 hours per day, it takes place both inside and outside in the nature, and the languages used are English, French and German. Deadline for submissions 15 April 2010. With Vivien Bridson and Ellie Raymont... Viv's open classes continue on Sundays at The Place in Studio 6 from 12.00 - 1.30.p.m. The class is fun and is useful for dancers, actors and performance artists who are willing to take a risk and work hard. Viv's experience ranges over 40 years and covers studies with Laban, Kurt Jooss, Martha Graham and Merce Cunningham amongst others. At present she is working as an actor, mainly in film. The LPC is calling all interested writers to join its expanding community. With a wide variety of workshops to choose from and the new flexible membership structure, there really is something for everyone! We kick off this season with our first Writers' Group session this Saturday 16 January in Brixton: An ideal introduction to the group, PUT THE PLAY BACK INTO PLAYWRITING will be a fun session focusing on kickstarting creative writing.
