Profile: I am keen to enter the film and media industry, having recently graduated Nottingham University with a degree in Film and Cultural Sociology. My enjoyment and critical interest in the media industry (television, film, journalism, and new media platforms) increased markedly throughout my degree, and has continued to grow since then. During my course I undertook a Short Film Module which was by far the most interesting and intriguing part.  We were placed into groups and were given two months to create a three minute short film about being a fresher at University. My role throughout this process was as the editor, for which I had full training of Final Cut Pro and was in charge of turning the raw materials of the film into a smoothly edited piece of cinema. Being extremely passionate about media and entertainment, especially film and film promotion, I have worked as a head floor runner on the production of an independent film, 'We Need To Talk About Kieran. This experience cemented my need to be apart of the film industry. As a runner, I was at the most basic level of the production team which meant I had a chance to interact with everyone in order to learn as much as I could about post production. During my final year at University I became an active member of The Film Making Society, I became the assistant director for the Nottingham University Film Society's first short film 'The Bubblegum Killer'. As we only had a small crew, everyone had to undertake multiple roles during filming and post-production. This was a highly challenging experience but every second was enjoyable. I believe my enthusiasm and academic understanding of the industry and post production, combined with retail and administration experience, would make me a prime candidate for your consideration. I am eager to learn different roles within the media industry and gain as much experience as possible. As a highly passionate and positive team player, I am willing to learn and ready to work hard to prove myself in the media industry.
