Profile: A motivated young woman with over a year’s experience within the media industry, arranging logistics, booking actors and extras for shoots and looking after them during the shoot. Also experienced in transcribing, logging rushes, administration, carrying out some editing and operating a camera. I aim to enter a career doing something where I can make the most of my natural skills and abilities, as well as utilising my past experiences and existing qualifications. I would hope to be doing something that allows me to continue learning new things. I'm currently researching opportunities for evening courses, or distance learning, to do in my spare time. Profile: I consider myself an enthusiastic, creative and hard working individual. I’m currently at St Mary’s University in Twickenham studying Media Arts and Cultural Studies and enjoying it enormously. Confident, reliable and cheerful, people would describe me as fun, outgoing and helpful. I’ve learnt a lot of practical and theoretical skills within my degree which has reinforced my desire to work within the media. I first became interested in the media after appearing on Blue Peter and spent the day on set. I loved to see how it works from behind the scenes and found it fascinating. I attend TV shows as much as possible and have helped advertise social events at my University. I’m currently creating a website and have recorded a podcast as part of my project. I’ve learnt a great deal of media knowledge and theories which I’m finding hugely interesting. I have great deal of passion to work within the industry. I’m passionate about British TV and film, I enjoy going to watch independent British films and watching the realism of the production. I also have a keen interest in music and love watching music shows and documentaries as well as news programmes and entertainment shows, I would be keen to experience the hustle and bustle of a news set or entertainment show. I would like to explore production or radio within the future as my passion for this has grown during my time on my course. My interests include art, theatre, music, travel and film. I thoroughly enjoy going to the theatre and cinema. I also like dancing, listening to music and shopping. I enjoy going to London, visiting friends and family. I have a wide circle of friends and would consider myself a fun, bright and sociable person.

Added to this, I have gained additional experience of film and video production through managing the small creative arts and media company that I formed 18 months ago. I decided to leave my degree course in Photojournalism in order to devote as much time as possible to launching this project and I feel it has given me a unique opportunity to develop my personal and professional skills. Called the Virus Project, it is a not for profit company and run entirely by volunteers in their free time. Its aim is to teach and develop creative skills and talent within a variety of media and artistic fields and some of its work is now available as part of a regular online magazine. The company now involves a large number of volunteer workers and no longer requires my full time attention and I plan to continue to pursue my career in Film and TV production through more formal employment channels. I am a reliable worker and a keen learner. I am also confident and prepared to take the initiative and to think up new and inventive ways to tackle problems. Working as a director of my own company has developed my organizing, communication and people skills. I am an enthusiastic team player and treat every task as a new experience to learn from. Alongside film and video production, photography continues to be a personal passion in my spare time. I also enjoy music and am a regular festival-goer.

I can work both alone and within a team, and have experience in leadership positions in many different situations. I try to enjoy my work as much as possible, and ensure that everyone around me is positive, as this will ensure that everyone works to the best of their ability. I'm also a methodical person, who tries to think around issues that can arise in any situation. I am also very creative, and like to share my passion about something or understand other people's passion for their vision.
